  • Kuvaus: Arabace, the high priest, loves a patrician woman named Jone, who instead is in love with Glauco, a young Roman. Glauco hosts in his house a poor blind girl called Nidia who is secretly infatuated with him. The high priest, outraged that Jone rejects him, kills her brother Apocide and, by taking advantage of Nidia’s blindness, makes Glauco drink a potion that makes him hectic. Glauco, sentenced to be eaten by lions, would be lost if "the horrible destroyer Vesuvius" not suddenly unleashed on the city its monstrous and hellish wrath. Finally Glauco manages to save himself and Jone. The video is a copy from the film print held by the Museo Nazionale del Cinema and previously restored by the EYE Filmmuseum: 35mm, positive, acetate, 346 m, 17’ at 18 fps, colour (Desmetcolor), Dutch intertitles, silent.
